Awadey Klenam Cromwell, a brilliant student from Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon), has received a full scholarship from Academic City University to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
The Academic City Presidential Scholarship, worth $40,000, is awarded yearly to about 10 deserving students including a participant of the Sharks Quiz participant who displays remarkable academic success, leadership potential and a desire to innovate.
The Academic City Presidential Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, meals, a laptop, a monthly stipend, and transportation, ensuring recipients can focus entirely on their studies and leadership development without financial barriers.
Presenting the scholarship, Ms. Nelly Agyemang-Gyamfi, Director of Marketing and Communications at Academic City, praised the recipient for his outstanding academic performance during the competition.
She expressed hope that he would continue to demonstrate his brilliance throughout his four years of study at Academic City.
“At Academic City, we believe in rewarding excellence and empowering young students who exhibit not only academic brilliance but also a passion for innovation and leadership. Awadey Klenam Cromwell embodies these qualities, and we are proud to support his journey in Mechanical Engineering,” she stated.
Awadey’s selection follows in the footsteps of the 2023 and 2024 awardees, Ezekiel Kpodo of St. Augustine’s College and David Effah of Presec-Legon, who are currently studying Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering, respectively.
On his part, Awadey Klenam Cromwell expressed his excitement about receiving the scholarship and highlighted how it would significantly support his dream of becoming an engineer.
“I have always had a deep fascination with engineering, particularly in the field of mechanical engineering. I am confident that Academic City will provide the right training and skill set to empower me to build something of my own in the near future,” he said.
Awadey’s academic journey will be guided by Academic City’s experienced faculty to ensure a seamless transition into higher education while nurturing his potential to become a mechanical engineering expert and a future industry leader.
